View ProfileGabbeh, also known as Khorasak rug, is a type of carpet woven in small sizes by the Qashqai, Lor, and Fars nomadic tribes. Gabbeh carpets are mainly composed of weft yarns and feature long, thick piles, both of which greatly contribute to their exceptional softness.
In some Gabbeh rugs, the number of wefts can range from three to eight per row, and the pile height may reach up to one centimeter. Gabbeh is made from natural sheep wool, which gives it a relatively heavy weight. On average, the weight of a Gabbeh rug is about 3 kilograms per square meter.
